Becker Canyon Studio

BECKER CANYON STUDIO is the creative workspace of photographer Norm Eder, located in Portland, Oregon. Specializing in capturing the essence of local artists—particularly musicians active in and around the Portland scene—Norm utilizes both color and native digital black and white photography to create compelling portraits.

In 2020, Norm partnered with the JEREMY WILSON FOUNDATION to launch an ongoing series of artist portraits, serving the foundation’s promotional efforts and the artists’ needs for quality images to advance their careers. By March 2025 nearly 400 artists have been photographed, with the images serving both the foundation's promotional efforts and the artists' personal branding. This collaboration was highlighted in a 2024 profile by Oregon Music News (read here).

Continuing this initiative, Norm hosts free-to-the-artist sessions, inviting local professional musicians and other artists to his studio for photo sessions. This endeavor not only enriches the visual documentation of Portland's vibrant music scene but also fosters a supportive community for local talent.

Becker Canyon Studio was designed and built with professional photography in mind. From the wall paint to the flooring, to the equipment Norm selected, the studio is a highly flexible space, perfect for getting the most creativity out of a session.
